Joachim Lelewel Hall
By the middle of 18th century, in the Academy courtyard west flank’s building, was built an Academy Chapel. It covered second and third floor of this building. In that time, chapel’s vaults were decorated with painted plaster edgings plafond, which portrayed St. Stanislov Kostka, the students’ guardian. In the beginning of 19th century, on the third floor was a Painting Department drawing studio. Here was working a professor Jan Rustem. This hall vaults’ décor in 1930s was restored by painter and restorer Jerzy Hoppen. After the process of restoration, into this hall was transferred Joachim Lelewel’s books and atlas collection.
